Cross Bay Walk
During the summer months the 8-mile walk across the bay takes place. Look out for oystercatchers probing for shellfish and the magnificent views of the coastline.
Only attempt this with an experienced guide who knows the tides and safe routes through the quicksand.
Lakeland Motor Museum
Newly opened at Backbarrow. Over 30,000 exhibits. Visit the Café Ambio for refreshments.
Cartmel
Famous for it’s 12th Century Priory with beautiful stained glass windows. Cartmel also hosts the highly popular horse races and boasts many traditional pubs and shops, including the famous Sticky Toffee Pudding Shop.
Holker Hall
The family home of Lord and Lady Cavendish has magnificent award winning gardens. The Hall hosts a variety of events throughout the summer including the annual Holker Hall Garden Festival in June.
